The ARRL has finally seen the light regarding the need for more entry level privileges with their new push to add voice and image privileges to the Technician Class license at 75, 40 and 15 meters and continued access at 10 meters. I do not completely agree with that they are proposing, however, its finally a move in the right direction in my opinion, you can read what the ARRL has to say at: "Meaningful Entry-Level License Privileges are Top Priority, ARRL Says". This position is close to what I have been calling on teh ARRL to adopt for a number of years now, thus I now stand behind the ARRL regarding this effort.
The BPL issue seems to be changing for the better or just plain not happening, we should be so lucky.
The FCC Spectrum Policy and the negative aspects of it seem to have not come into action and hopefully never will, especially the aspects of having to deal with a level of co-channel inteference.

Hello All
There are three subjects that in my opinion are critical to the future of the Amateur Radio Service.
Of the three below, the most recent news applies to item three, where the ARRL has proposed a new Entry-Level License, Code-Free HF Access that they are for now calling the Novice class. Basically they have seen the light in the argument that I have been making all along. For more information on the new ARRL vision see "ARRL to Propose New Entry-Level License, Code-Free HF Access"., for my long standing position follow the link in item three below.
1. "Broad Band over Power Lines". This one will effect all domestic communications through 80Mhz. regardless of service if the receiver is within range of the power lines emissions ! The ARRL is doing a wonderful jop regarding this subject and need the support of all Radio Amateurs.
2. The "FCC Spectrum Policy Task Force Presents Recommendations" released on 7 November 2002.
3. The other subject being that the ARRL Asks FCC to Eliminate, "Refarm" Novice CW Bands
